In the Forbes’ article, “’60 Minutes’ Was Right About Huge Drug Prices, But Wrong About The Villain,” Nicole Thurman, vice president of talent management at CHG, shares how our benefits team is managing specialty drug costs without compromising coverage for all our employees.
“[Nicole] first began seeing specialty drugs on her claims report about three years ago, after the FDA approved medications to cure Hepatitis C., and treat Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, HIV, and other conditions, with price tags ranging from $3,000 to $30,000 a month. The dollar amounts started escalating, but they accepted it,” the article writes.
“We assumed we don’t really have any choice,” Nicole shares. “People need these drugs. We want to help our people.”
