Name: Kimberly DelValle

Job Title: Payroll manager at RN Network in Boca Raton, Fla.

Years with CHG: 10

What is your favorite part about working at CHG? Everyone that I work with. We are like a close-knit family, and I especially love my direct reports. They make me so proud of them, and they are extremely reliable and terrific young women. My teammates in Salt Lake City, which include SLC payroll, accounts receivable, benefits and GL, make my work days worthwhile as well.

What one story best describes your experience at CHG? When I started here I had my associate’s degree in accounting. The tuition reimbursement program allowed me to continue my quest for more knowledge, and I went back to college to get my bachelor’s as well as my master’s degree. When I decided to study for the CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) exam, the tuition reimbursement program paid for the exam and all I had to do was pass, which I did. This experience has truly allowed me to accomplish the goals that I set for myself many years ago.

If someone asked you what you do, how would you answer them? I would answer that at my job I have fun, but I actually get paid to process payroll for our travel nurses. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to get paid for something that you absolutely love doing.

Why did you choose to work at CHG? I worked for SunTrust Bank for eight years prior to coming to CHG. I resigned with the intention of taking from three to five months off. Well, after being out of work for only two days, I received a call from AccounTemps saying that there was a payroll specialist position open at CompHealth. Since payroll was the area of accounting I did enjoy the most, I said OK. My three-to-five month hiatus was only for two days. When I reported to work, immediately the people and the atmosphere just connected with me, and everything about the company felt like home and that this is definitely where I belonged.

What is your favorite event that you have participated in at CHG and why? President’s Club 2011, because it was a reward of appreciation for the work that I do day in and day out. I really love my job and as a single mother of four wonderful sons, I never get to really travel and take off that parent hat. This opportunity allowed me to do that because I could not call home even if I wanted to. It was an awesome experience, and I definitely would not mind participating in that again at all.

What is your favorite core value at CHG? Putting People First is my favorite core value because it is one that I live by at work and home. I’ve always believed that when you do things for others and you recognize others, you are rewarded greatly, and it is a natural part of who I am.

If you could choose your last meal, what would it be? Tilapia baked in lemon juice and butter, rice pilaf and steamed broccoli with a chocolate souffle for dessert.

What five things would you take to a deserted island? Well, four of those would be my sons, and the final item would be an endless supply of chocolate. Many people would probably be amazed that I would choose to take my children with me, but they are the biggest factors that I attribute to my successes in life, and their love and inspiration has always pushed me to strive for more and being better than my best.

In a movie about your life, who would you choose to star as you? I would love to have Queen Latifah star as me.
