Making a Difference

Difference Makers: CHG employees build school in Kenya

Whether it’s building houses through Habitat for Humanity, organizing events to raise money for cancer research or serving on nonprofit boards, our employees are passionate about making a difference.

Last year, we launched our new Difference Makers award program to recognize employees who live our core value of Putting People First by positively impacting others and serving in our communities. Fifty employees were nominated by their peers, and four winners were chosen — Charese Jamison, Jenna Barrett, Michelle Rhodes, and Brooke Ziakis. These winners, along with their guests, joined our CEO on a company-paid 10-day humanitarian trip to Kenya, Africa, in August.

While there, the group helped build the community’s first high school for boys. When it’s complete, the campus will provide room and board for 25 boys and make a huge difference in the community. The group also enjoyed a safari, spent time with local business people to learn about their economy, and received a crash course in carving congas, which are used as protection against lions.

Follow the group’s Kenyan journey in the video below.
