Almost a year ago, Weatherby Healthcare employees in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., lined up to say goodbye to Roxana Mendoza, a Weatherby employee of 10 years. She had been deployed to United Arab Emirates for a year.
Roxana, a member of the U.S. Army Special Services Group, later learned her stay in the Middle East would be longer than expected. She now plans to return home in spring 2017.
To make her stay more comfortable, Weatherby’s operations team began collecting toiletries, microwavable food, snacks, coffee pots and creamers to send to Roxana and the 400 soldiers in her camp. Word spread quickly, and employees across the office began dropping off supplies.
Erica Cosby, manager of administrative support, says, “I’m proud to report seven boxes are ready to be mailed to Roxana and her fellow soldiers. We plan to continue to show these soldiers some love and send out a care package every month until Roxana returns home.”
