When Theresa Ferraro first began her career with our Weatherby Healthcare division, she was working out of an airplane hangar with twelve other Weatherby colleagues. Now 20 years later, Weatherby has moved out of the hangar, but one thing has stayed the same — Theresa’s dedication to Putting People First and giving back to others along the way.
Learn more about Theresa and her 20 years with us in the Q&A below.
What do you do in your current position?
I am the senior director over our family medicine and advanced practice teams.
Why do you like working at CHG?
The servant leadership — supporting and engaging our people is the best.
What is your most memorable moment at CHG so far?
Winning the company’s Inspirational Leadership Award. I won the award when it first launched in 2011.
What advice do you have for others looking to grow their career?
Be open to learn and driven to succeed, but most of all just help others. Your growth depends on developing others and growing your teams — it’s really not about you at all.
What was it like when you first started working here?
When I started with Weatherby in 1998, there were only 12 people and we were working out of an airplane hangar. In late 2000, CHG acquired us and has supported us ever since. The company provides us with amazing branding, constant support to help us all grow, and they truly listen to our feedback. In addition, we always get more benefits every year!
What is an interesting fact about you?
As of this year, I’ve been married 30 years and I’m celebrating 20 years with CHG. I understand what it takes to commit to something and make it work through good times and bad. I’ve found that candid communication is key to any relationship and agreeing to disagree and respecting other perspectives is important.
If you had a day to do anything at all, what would you do?
I would give back. Helping others is what brings you true happiness. There is nothing better than making someone smile. I really appreciate the volunteer time off (VTO) hours and humanitarian trips our company gives to us. We’re able to give back to our communities, and I was fortunate enough to attend a CHG humanitarian trip to the Navajo Nation.
